The magical Christmas lights in Paris
Every year at the same time, a French star (singer, actor …) triggers the Christmas lights of the most beautiful avenue in the world: the Champs-Elysees. This year was no exception to the rule with the actress Charlotte Gainsbourg as mistress of ceremonies. Until January 10, tourists and Parisians can see 415 trees illuminated fuchsia (after the European Blue last year), Place de l’Etoile to the Place de la Concorde.
As a bonus, many activities are offered throughout the month of December on the Champs-Elysees: exhibition “Ice Magic” (ice sculptures), Christmas market with traditional wooden chalets and the famous Ferris wheel, instead of Concorde.
For those who want the adventure continues towards the Parisian department stores (Galeries Lafayette and Printemps), to discover the Christmas windows. Each window depicts a dream or a story, where small figures (bear cubs this year) come to life and come alive before the astonished eyes of toddlers and their parents.
Exhibition “Ice Magic” and Christmas market – until December 28th.
Ferris Wheel – until December 30th. Daily from 10.30am to midnight. 10€ for adults, 5€ for children (free for children under 3 years-old).
