From July 14 to August 15 next, do not miss the 20th edition of the Festival Paris Quartier d’Summer. This year, organizers are promising a unique program: the eclectic artists, music, dance, drama, but the circus! With Paris Summer Quarter, the conventions are still shaken, the locations are fixed or ephemeral, the shows are free or paid. To explore the nearby Relais Madeleine, at the foot of the Sacred Heart, The Arena of Jazz. Very expected, they will be held from 20 to 25 July 2010.

Festival Paris Cinéma

From 3 to 13 July 2010, the Paris Cinema Festival gives spectators an appointment for an early summer film, popular and festive. The program includes premieres prestigious international competition of feature films, and new encounters with leading figures of cinema. For this 2010 edition, Jade Fonda and Eugene Green are the guests of honor at the Festival, as well as Japan. Each year, the cinematography of a country is highlighted. To celebrate the rising sun, more than 100 films will be presented to the public. Among the places participating in the event, we find the CENTQUATRE, the Forum des Images, or the French Cinematheque. The Festival will close with a drive-in karaoke highly anticipated follow-up of a popular dance until dawn the walls of CENTQUATRE. An event not to miss to start the summer in a good mood!

Loyalty cards (UGC unlimited, Gaumont, Moneybox Forum images …) are usually accepted by the cinema, are valid on the sessions of the festival.

Solidays 2010

This year again many people will be united. From June 25th to 27th, the festival will bring together AIDS activists of Solidarity for the 12th year, 200 artists involved in the fight against AIDS and discrimination. A success already assured thanks to the announced headliners: Jacques Higelin, Vanessa Paradis, Diam’s and Olivia Ruiz might well attract more people than usual. Archive, M and Shakaponk the French pop-rock revelation will also be there. For latecomers, know that the two and three-day pass are sold out. The only hope now to be part of the lucky lucky: to collect the last pass for the day. Favorites of the year 2010, renowned and promising artists… Solidays 2010 promises to be a great success.

Hotel near the Olympia: Iggy & the Stooges

Note that date, July 7th this year, the Olympia may well live in one of his concerts over the “terrible” of the year! Iggy Pop and his band the Stooges are going to invest the scene of Olympia to interpret their classics, between provocation and body language “subversive”. Iggy Pop also released his new album “Preliminaries”, May 25 next.

Eddy Mitchell, live at the Olympia

October will be rock’n'roll or not. The Olympia will host the great Eddy Mitchell for five exceptional concerts from October 19th to 23rs 2010. He will present his latest album, “Grand Ecran”, a compilation of fifteen classic songs of American cinema. A world and a culture very present in the discography of the artist, especially with titles like “Sur La Route De Memphis” or “Rio Grande”. He even recorded several albums with the song “La Derniere Seance” in a Nashville studio for his adopted city, during his career.

Concert on Tuesday 19th, Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st, Friday 22nd, and Saturday 23rd of October 2010 at 8pm.

Hugues Aufray concert in Paris

Spotted by Eddie Barclay in 1959 who he will help him release his first album, Hugues Aufray has imposed himself on the French music scene. Passion for horse riding, often referring to travels, friendship, brotherhood and respect, his songs are full of poetry. His classics? “Stewball” and « Santiano ». To relive this go on April 10th and 11th on the stage of La Cigale.

Exhibition Edvard Munch in Paris

Edvard Munch (1863-1944) is wrongly known only to a single work: The Scream. Awareness of this iconic painting certainly has meant to conceal the true size and true message of the artist. So a new day as the Pinacotheque presents this unique man until July 18th. Drawings, paintings, sculptures, collages, photographs and films, Munch has been consistently pushing the boundaries between media and technology. With these overruns, but no limits for his age, this accomplished artist leaves a deeply moving work. Edvard Munch fits brilliantly in the tradition of William Turner and a Gustave Courbet, but with an unmistakable.

Maison de poupée

In the play Maison de Poupée -A Doll’s House-, Audrey Tautou portrays Nora, a woman who despite her perfect life (a nice home, a husband and children), will create a scandal in the nineteenth century. Carefree, she plays with life, with others and with herself to the point of no return. This play by Ibsen shows a modern nineteenth century, with all the fantasies and clichés from that time. To quote the author so well: “Life is not sad – life is ridiculous and that’s unbearable!“. A man who apparently caught it long before feminism today, the status of women of his time.
